HAPP Switzerland was founded in 1973 as a turned pin manufacturer for the watch and electronics industry. In 1980 the first private label IC sockets were produced at HAPP and in 1992 the home brand E-tec was registered to cover HAPP’s interconnect product range (IC sockets & connectors). At the same time, new offices in Switzerland, Germany, France, UK and Taiwan were set-up to promote this new brand name on a world-wide basis. In the year 1999 the LAN product line (copper cables, fibre optic cables and LAN accessories) was added to the interconnect product portfolio. In 2005 the brand name HAPP was officially allocated to this product line, in order to clearly separate the E-tec interconnect product business from the HAPP LAN cabling business. Our office in Taiwan (HAPP & E-tec Taiwan Ltd) thus carries this dual product name as its official company name since 2005.
